Maybe suggesting a crime has not yet been committed by Dr. Murray. However, if convicted then he can later follow through with the crime he is convicted of – without further penalty.

Possibly also, the police have not yet charged him, because they are not 100% sure Michael is dead; in order to prevent this specific legal circumstance from occurring.

Double Jeopardy – Can not try same person for the exact same crime twice once a verdict has been rendered.

Remember the husband he was not killed the first time round in the movie – but she then kills him the second time around and could not be retried.

Also note the image of the double edge sword – double jeopardy cuts can cut boths ways.

I agree with Kyra. I have always supported Michael ever since I became a fan of his. Keep the Faith as we wait for our Michael. It may take a longer time than we want, but know he is alive. I think it means a few things.
-First Mister Jackson was ‘murderd’… But he istent. He just wants to awake the people to look closer, make them ask questions, make their own desition and not waiting till other people do something, but start to akt on their own!
– Second Dr. Murrey will never be arestet, because he helpt Mister Jackson.
-Mister Jackson has not died –> no murder –> no crime
And this whole plot helps at the end the whole planet, nature, animals and poeple –> this morder wasen’t a crime 🙂

It is my understanding that before there can even be double jeopardy, a crime would have already had to of taken place. The person that was tried and acquitted cannot come back up on the same charges. I do believe that means if they are guilty they have perjured and charges can be brought against someone for that. But as far as murder, I think the sentence would be much longer than for perjury. Did anything I said make sense to anyone but me? LOL.. Am I even in the zip code of being on the right track? I don’t care who you are, this is a lot of fun. Why are people questioning you anyway? Am I missing something?

Brilliant clue! The tag line for this movie is “Murder isn’t always a crime.” I have my own theory on that…he was “murdered” for show…in front of the people who wanted him dead so they THINK he’s dead. Therefore, a “murder” is committed, but it’s a fake murder therefore, it isn’t a crime. I’m not even going to get into why I think they had to do a fake murder because I personally think there are some not so very nice people involved in all of this. I just hope the good guys are keeping Mike safe! Love you MJ!

So…Maybe this clue means there will be a surprise twist to the case!!! “Double Jeopardy” needs to have someone charged, tried (is that right, like a trial?) and acquitted first, then that person really kills off the person that he/she was just acquitted of NOT killing.

Isn’t there as similar plot in the “This Is It’ movie in the Smooth Criminal part with Gilda? When Gilda throws her glove to Michael, as I understand it, Michael is playing the part from the movie Gilda, of a man who fakes his death, but then is killed by Gilda. (My head hurts – this is confusing)

Seems to me that this clue would lead one to think that Dr. Murray WILL be charged, tried and acquitted (maybe not formally, but in the public’s perception) and THEN Dr. Murray will admit to killing Mike (figuratively killing him that is.)

That would be a strange twist, and a shake-up causing everyone to question the reality of the “facts.”

The only thing that nags me about both this clue and The Crow clue is this…in both films someone does actually die (The husband in Double Jeopardy…although he fakes his death in the beginning, he is ultimately killed, and Eric in The Crow…he comes back from the dead, but he is in fact dead…he’s essentially a ghost). I don’t know if that was intended as part of the clues or not. I gotta admit that, although I feel it in my gut that he’s alive, it worried me a little. I guess we’ll just see what Dove comes up with for the next ones.

There are three essential protections included in the double jeopardy principle, which are:

being retried for the same crime after an acquittal
retrial after a conviction
being punished multiple times for the same offense

Who can you think of, that has been continually “tried” for the same crime, over and over in the media, even after it was proven that he was not guilty of committing it?

As for the movie itself, there are so many instances where I wanted to scream at the screen, “How can you NOT see what’s right in front of your face?!
